The RCMP are looking for a suspect in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a McDonald’s restaurant in Campbellton, N.B.

Police say the incident happened at the Roseberry Street restaurant around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the man entered the restaurant, jumped onto the counter and demanded money from staff. Two employees struggled with the suspect before he fled the store on foot.

Police say he was last seen headed south along George Street.

One employee sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police say two people who were inside the restaurant at the time of the incident were taken to hospital and treated for shock.

Investigators have released photos of the suspect taken from the security camera in an effort to determine his identity.

He is described as a man of medium height who weighs roughly 160 pounds. He has dark hair and is clean-shaven.

He was wearing a black hoodie with white lettering on the front, as well as a black jacket with red markings and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

Anyone who may have been in the area between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Jan. 5 and saw a person matching the description of the suspect in the area is asked to contact police.
