A tractor trailer filled with frozen lobster was stolen from a lobster processing plant in Grande-Anse, N.B. on Friday.

The Caraquet RCMP say around 10 p.m. on Friday night, video surveillance shows a dark colored Volvo transport truck hooking onto a tractor trailer filled with lobster. Once stolen, the vehicle headed towards Bathurst.

The truck is described as a “day cab” - there is no sleeping section in the back. The truck has two yellow and red towing lights on the rear top corners of the vehicle. The front license plate was attached to the middle of the truck’s front grill and not in the usual location.

The trailer containing the lobster is 53 feet long with two axles and wind deflectors underneath. There are no markings on the trailer, however, it does have a refrigeration unit on the front.

The trailer’s license plate reads: “PT 6-65-11.” Note: the letters on the plate are small and the “P” sits on top of the “T.”

Police have released a picture of the transport truck and a photo of the type of boxes inside the trailer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Caraquet RCMP.
