Halifax Regional Police say a man arrested in connection with a stabbing in central Halifax has been released.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Gottingen Street before 10 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the 5500 block of Cornwallis Street before making his way to Gottingen Street.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man was arrested in connection with the charges Thursday afternoon but he was released without charges.

Police said it is too early to determine whether the stabbing was a random incident.
