Police in Nova Scotia are investigating after a burnt-out stolen vehicle was discovered in the Halifax area.

Halifax District RCMP say they responded to an area in Beaver Bank around 10:15 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of a burnt 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck at the old Air Force Radar Base near Neil Peters Road.

Firefighters were already on-scene when police arrived, and the truck was still hot and smoking, police say.

The name of a company — Teak Tree Enterprises — was still visible on the side of the truck, police say, and some landscaping equipment, believed to have been in the back of the truck, was found on the ground nearby.

Investigators believe the truck was stolen from the company’s compound on Lakeview Road sometime after 3 p.m. on Saturday.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
