FREDERICTON -- New Brunswick Premier David Alward named six people from the province to the Electoral Boundaries and Representation Commission.

Alward said Tuesday that co-chairs Annise Hollies and Allan Maher will be joined by commissioners Conde Grondin, Susan Murray, Jean-Guy Rioux and James Stanley.

The commission will redraw the boundaries of the province's electoral ridings, replacing the current 55 ridings with 49 for the next general provincial election.

The commission will report its findings to the legislative assembly.

The province's all-party legislative administration committee unanimously recommended the six individuals for the commission.

Hollies served as chief electorial officer and municipal electorial officer until 2007, while Maher was the provincial finance minister from 1987 to 1995.
