A confused driver ended up in a body of water in Halifax today.

The driver went down a hilly road and drove straight into a boat launch on the North West Arm around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses to the accident say they jumped into action when they heard a ‘splash.’

“I turned around and this guy was driving into the water,” says first responder Holly Wicks. “I kind of freaked out and started yelling at him. He was unresponsive. The guys were yelling at him, trying to get him to back up, but he was unresponsive, kind of out of it. He kept inching forward and I knew I had to get him out immediately. I opened the door and I helped him out.”

The driver was not injured and was able to tell police his name and age.

A tow truck pulled the car out of the water Tuesday afternoon.
