Fredericton cat owners are being advised to be on alert.
Police say they may be dealing with multiple cases of cruelty towards cats.
The remains of several cats have turned up recently in a neighborhood on the city’s north end.
A vet has determined at least one of the cats died in a suspicious death.
Police remind pet owners, they shouldn’t be out at night.
“There is a city by-law in effect that prohibits that and we would certainly discourage you allowing your cats, or any animals, small dogs, to run around late in the evening or overnight,” explains Sgt. Scott Mackenzie of the Fredericton Police Force. “Just for the fact that something is happening, certainly, in the Nashwaaksis area and we’re just not quite sure what it is at this time.”
Police say they have no suspects.
