Police are investigating a second robbery at a Needs convenience store in the Halifax area in less than a week.

Officers responded to the store on Chebucto Road before 10 p.m. Monday.

They say a man entered the business, produced a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. He fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount and was last seen heading west along Chebucto Road.

Police say they scoured the area but failed to locate the suspect. No one was injured.

He is described as a tall, white male with a thin build and blue eyes. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark toque and was carrying a bag over his shoulder at the time of the incident.

Police are also investigating a robbery at the Needs in Highfield Park in Dartmouth. Officers responded to the store Sunday evening after a female employee was threatened with a knife and a man fled the store with some cash and cigarettes.

The description of the suspect involved in the first robbery is similar to that of the second.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
