KITSCOTY, Alta. -- A 46-year-old man has been killed in a traffic accident caused by a deer in eastern Alberta.

RCMP say a pickup truck hit the animal near Kitscoty on the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary.

That caused the driver to cross into oncoming traffic where the truck hit a car.

Police say the car's driver, a 46-year-old man from the Maritimes, died instantly.

Mounties did not name the deceased, who had moved to the area to find work.

They say there won't be any charges.
