The case of a Nova Scotia teen accused of killing his mother is set to continue today.

John "Jack" Buckley is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Victoria Brauns-Buckley, whose body was found in her Borgels Point Road home in Chester Basin on March 2.

Her death was ruled a homicide a few days later, although investigators have not released a cause.

The victim's 18-year-old son, whom neighbours say lived with her, was arrested in connection with her murder on March 12.

He appeared in Bridgewater provincial court the next day but the case was adjourned to give the Crown and defence time to review evidence and police reports.

Buckley is due back in court today and his laywer, Patrick MacEwan, told reporters that his client maintains his innocence and plans to fight the charge.
