A Nova Scotia woman has organized a full-scale search for her sister, who went missing in a small town in Saskatchewan more than a week ago.
Carol King, who is originally from Newfoundland, was last seen on August 6. Relatives say she had complained to police that someone was harassing her.
The 40-year-old disappeared just hours before she was scheduled to meet with RCMP in Rosetown.
Her car was found submerged in a slough in central Saskatchewan last week. An RCMP dive team scoured the bog, which was later drained, but found no signs of King.
Police also found no evidence after searching a second nearby slough and the surrounding area.
Now her sister has arrived from Nova Scotia and she is organizing her own search effort. Brenda King fears her sister has been abducted and her family is offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who brings her home.
"You know, I don't care about anything else," Brenda King tells CTV. "We have the reward out there for her safe return. You know, at this point, I don't care about charges or anything. I just want her back."
Area resident Cory Fehr has volunteered to help with the search effort in central Saskatchewan.
"Being that the relatives are back east…thoughts and prayers are nice but I wanted to come out and do some more, so my brother and I decided to venture out today and do what we can," says Fehr.
RCMP are asking farmers and residents in the area to report anything unusual, and to check outbuildings and storage areas for any signs of tampering or forced entry.
