A Sea King helicopter had to make an emergency landing on Friday at a provincial park in Cowbay, N.S.
The helicopter landed safely in an empty parking lot at Rainbow Haven around 12:30p.m.
The precautionary landing was made after a warning light went off. As a precaution, emergency crews were dispatched from 12 Wing Shearwater.
“There were no injuries or damage,” says Captain Jason Munn. “We have a crew of technicians out assessing the situation, and hopefully we’ll get it fixed and fly her out as soon as we can.”
Once it is assessed, the helicopter will fly to 12 Wing Shearwater Friday night, where it’ll undergo a flight safety investigation to figure out what exactly caused the warning light to go off.
