Here is a list of school closures and cancellations for Monday, Jan. 16, 2023.

NEW BRUNSWICK

  • All schools in Anglophone West School District are closed.
  • All schools in Anglophone East School District are closed.
  • All schools in Anglophone South School District are closed.
  • All schools in Anglophone North School District are closed.
  • All schools in the Francophone Northeast School District are closed.
  • All schools in the Francophone Northwest School District are closed.
  • All schools in the Francophone South School District are closed.
  • UNB Fredericton Campus is closed.
  • St. Thomas University is closed.
  • Université de Moncton: The Moncton campus will open at 12 p.m. The Edmundston campus will close at 12 p.m.
  • Mount Allison will open at 12 p.m.
  • NBCC: Saint John, St. Andrews, Miramichi, Woodstock and Fredericton campuses are closed. NBCC Moncton will open at 10 a.m.

NOVA SCOTIA

  • Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education: All schools in Cumberland County are closed. All buses in East Hants, Colchester and Pictou are running on paved roads only. AG Baillie Memorial Trenton Elementary Trenton Middle School are closed due to power outages.
  • Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education: School buses are traveling on paved roads only. Classes are cancelled at Dr. T.L. Sullivan, Jubilee Elementary, Ferrisview Elementary, Sydney Mines Middle School, Glace Bay Elementary, Glace Bay High School, Oceanview Education Centre, Donkin School and John Bernard Croak V.C. due to a power outage.
  • South Shore Regional Centre for Education: Back road closures are in effect. 
  • Strait Regional Centre for Education: Bus routes 130, 131, 132 and 133 driven to Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy are cancelled. Classes are cancelled at East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy, St. Andrews Consolidated School, Antigonish Education Centre,Tamarac Education Centre and the Strait Area Education Recreation Centre due to power outages. Fanning Education Centre/Canso Academy is dismissing students early at 1:30 p.m.
  • Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education: Bus drivers will use their discretion on roads. New Minas Elementary School, Evangeline Middle School, Port Williams Elementary School, Highbury Education Centre and Kings County Adult High School are closed due to a power outage.
  • Tri-County Regional Centre for Education: Bus route 924 will not be travelling down Morganville Road due to flooding.
  • CSAP: École NDA classes are cancelled. Buses to Centre scolaire de la Rive-Sud will operate on paved roads. École secondaire Mosaïque, École Mer et Monde and École acadienne de Pomquetare are delayed opening due to a power outage.
  • NSCC: Strait Area Campus and the Wagmatcook Learning Centre are closed due to a power outage. The Amherst Learning Centre will delay opening until 10 a.m. Cumberland Campus will remain closed until power is restored, with an estimated return of 12 p.m.
  • St. Francis Xavier University will delay opening until 1 p.m.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

  • Public Schools Branch: Westisle familiy schools are closed. Bluefield, Kensington, Kinkora and Three Oaks schools are on a one-hour delay. Schools in the Charlottetown, Morell, Montague, and Souris families will proceed as normal.
  • French Language School Board: Pierre-Chiasson, Évangéline, Sur-Mer and St-Augustin schools are on a one-hour delay.
  • Holland College: West Prince Campus is opening at 10 a.m.
