A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition following a single-vehicle collision in Hanwell, N.B. on the weekend.

Police responded to the crash just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday near the Deerwood weigh scales on the Trans-Canada Highway.

They say it appears the vehicle left the road and rolled.

All four occupants of the vehicle, including a 41-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man, a 14-year-old girl and the 17-year-old boy, were taken to hospital in Fredericton. Police say they are from Brampton, Ont.

Three of the crash victims have been released but the boy was transferred to hospital in Saint John where he remains in critical condition.

Police say an RCMP reconstructionist is assisting in their investigation which is ongoing. They also say alcohol was not a factor in the crash and charges are not anticipated.
