The Nova Scotia government is navigating troubled waters as delays continue in the launch of the Bluenose II.
The project is over budget and still not ready to sail.
It was announced this week that a consultant has been brought in to try and fix outstanding issues at a cost of $1500 per day. That cost is in addition to the monthly fee of $22, 000 that’s being paid to a consulting firm hired to manage the project.
Liberal premier Stephen McNeil says the ship will sail again.
“I don’t know what our final figure is, our focus is now is to have this vessel up and going by this summer," he says.
It has been two weeks since a sea trial or the vessel was cancelled.
In the meantime, the opposition is pressing the Liberals to release the cost of that decision.
