CHARLOTTETOWN – The body of a man found earlier this year in Stratford, P.E.I. has been identified by RCMP.
60-year-old John Stephen Ward was found on May 15 2014 by Queens District RCMP in a wooded area.
He had been reported missing in December 2013.
The P.E.I.’s Coroner’s Office determined the man died of exposure.
Police say testing, determining the cause of death, and ensuring Ward’s family was properly notified, caused a long delay in the release of this information.
