NEGUAC, N.B. -- RCMP say a 31-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing incident in northeastern New Brunswick.

The incident occurred Sunday at a home along Route 450 in the community of Saint Wilfred.

Police say a suspect armed with a knife entered the home and demanded money from the resident.

A scuffle ensued in which the home owner was injured.

The suspect fled the scene and the victim was taken to hospital and was later released.

Police say they arrested a New Jersey, N.B., man a few hours later and he will face charges at a later date.
