Police in New Brunswick say they’re making progress finding victims around the world as they investigate a Moncton man believed to have tricked teenage boys into performing sex acts online.

RCMP released a YouTube video in May with information about the case, which they say could involve up to 2,000 victims around the world, some who may not even be aware they’ve been victimized.

On Monday, police said the video has since been viewed more than 50,000 times and has resulted in a number of tips.

As a result, police said they have confirmed the identities of victims in Scotland, England, the United Kingdom, the U.S. and southern Ontario, and have begun working with law enforcement agencies in those jurisdictions.

Police are encouraging people to continue sharing the video as they keep investigating the Moncton man’s alleged online sexual exploitation of teenaged boys, believed to have taken place between January 2012 and the fall of 2014.

In early May, RCMP laid sex-related charges against a 24-year-old Moncton man they say used a video of a teenaged girl that appeared to be live to convince boys to commit sex acts, which they say he recorded and distributed.
