Police have charged a fourth person in connection with a drug-related murder in the north end of Halifax.

Jason Matthew Halsey, 27, was arrested Wednesday morning in Clayton Park.

Halsey has been charged with the attempted murder of 31-year-old William Lee Boliver and first-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Corey Duane Lucas.

The charges stem from an incident on May 25 when two men – one armed with a handgun – entered a residence at 2711 Clifton Street.

Police say a dispute took place and multiple shots were fired during the altercation, striking both Boliver and Lucas.

Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene while Boliver was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries

Police say two men were seen running away from the building after the shooting.

Last month, police arrested 20-year-old Dylan Peter Roach of Halifax in connection with the incident. He is facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder, while Jenna Karlene Piercy of Prospect, N.S. is facing a charge of accessory after the fact in connection with the case.

On Monday, police arrested 27-year-old Simon Peter Dugas of Halifax and charged him with attempted murder and first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.

However, they withdrew the charges Wednesday after consulting with the Crown, and Dugas is now facing a charge of accessory after the fact.

Police say they don’t expect to make anymore arrests in the case.

Halsey is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today.
