SHERBROOKE, N.S. -- Police are investigating a fatal house fire in eastern Nova Scotia.

The RCMP in Guysborough District says they responded to a call for help at 9 a.m. from the village of Sherbrooke.

Firefighters from two volunteer department managed to extinguish the flames, but they later found the body of a 57-year-old woman inside the home on Senora Road.

Police say the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious but the fire marshal has been called in to help with the investigation.
