THREE BROOKS, N.S. – Three people are in hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 6, northwest of Pictou, N.S.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Pictou County RCMP and emergency services from the surrounding area say they responded to the crash near Three Brooks, N.S.

Officials say the two vehicles were travelling toward each other and collided. Three of the four people in the vehicles suffered non-life threatening injuries. These include a 75-year-old man from River John, N.S., a woman in her mid-20s from Pictou, and a 13-year-old boy.

The highway was slippery and covered in snow at the time of the crash. But, the RCMP say an investigation will continue to determine the exact cause.

A third vehicle had tried to avoid the crash by braking, and veered off the road. The driver was not injured.
