A Moncton high school teacher accused of sexual exploitation has been found guilty of all charges.
A jury of four women and eight men delivered their verdict on Friday evening in a Moncton courtroom, finding William MacGillivray guilty of child luring, sexual exploitation and obstructing a police investigation.
The 43-year-old teacher at Harrison Trimble High School in Moncton denied having sexual encounters with a student who was 17 at the time.
The offences occurred between March and November 2013, when the girl was no longer MacGillivray’s student.
The Crown argued that MacGillivray’s version of events didn’t “stand up to common logic”.
The jury received instruction from the judge on Friday morning and was sequestered shortly before noon.
