A family had to escape their home through their bedroom windows after a house fire in Welton Landing, N.S.
Kentville fire crews responded to the blaze, which broke out at around 2:30 a.m. The house was heavily engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
According to the Canadian Red Cross, the family was awoken by their barking dog. The homeowners and two of their children were able to escape without injury through bedroom windows. Two other children were not home at the time of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
The home sustained extensive fire and smoke damage. The fire is believed to be electrical in nature.
