A man was rushed to hospital after a shooting in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley early Friday.
Kentville Police were called to a home on Park Street at approximately 12:30 a.m.
A witness, who did not want to be identified, tells CTV News she heard two men arguing and then heard two shots fired.
She says she then heard one person screaming while a vehicle sped away from the scene.
A 52-year-old Kentville man was taken to the Valley Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound. He was then transported to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
There are unconfirmed reports the victim was shot in the face, but his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening and he is in stable condition.
A 32-year-old Murphy Lake man was taken into custody and is being questioned by police.
Police say it is early in their investigation, but they don’t believe the shooting was a random act.
Investigators remain on the scene at the home, which is surrounded by yellow tape.
