Police in Ottawa believe a man wanted on a nationwide warrant may be in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis County.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating 26-year-old Brandon Gaul following a fatal car crash in Ottawa almost three years ago.

Police say a southbound car was travelling on Island Park Drive around 5 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2009 when it left the roadway, struck a tree and flipped over.

When police arrived the vehicle was on fire.

Four men were extracted from the burning vehicle and rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Police say one of the passengers died as a result of his injuries.

Gaul has been charged with one count of impaired driving causing death, two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm in connection with the case.

Police believe Gaul is in the Annapolis County area where he may be working at a tattoo business.

He is described as a white male with a muscular build and short reddish-blond hair. He is five-foot-nine inches tall and walks with a limp.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is being asked to contact police.
