Police are looking for a man following a stabbing in south-end Halifax Wednesday morning.

Halifax Regional Police say the incident happened outside of a home on Fays Lane after the victim witnessed the suspect reaching into his car.

The 39-year-old car owner approached the man and the two got into a scuffle, leaving the victim with a stab wound to his leg.

The suspect fled the scene on foot towards Tower Road. He has not yet been found.

The victim was sent to hospital and released a short time later.

Police are looking for a 5’11” white man with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a beige three-quarter-length winter coat and was carrying a fully dark coloured backpack.

Anyone with information on the suspect or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
