A 39-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his common-law partner.
Police responded to an apartment building in the Dolan Road area of Rothesay around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
When they arrived on the scene, police found the body of 33-year-old Tanya Marie Shand.
Police arrested Adam Lee Steven Prest of Rothesay at the scene.
He made a brief court appearance in Saint John on Thursday but did not enter a plea.
Prest is being held in custody and will return to court on June 10.
Investigators have released few details about the case.
