New Glasgow police says they’ve talked to a person of interest in connection to an assault that happened earlier this weekend, but so far no arrests have been made.

Police say the 46-year-old victim remains in hospital in critical condition at a Halifax hospital.

Police were called to a bar on Provost Street around 1:45 a.m. Friday morning.

The victim was originally taken to the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow but was later air-lifted to a Halifax hospital with what police call life-threatening injuries to his head.

Police are still investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
